Connagh’s Quay Industrial Units

Our client owns land and industrial buildings at Connagh’s Quay in Deeside. He obtained planning permission on a brownfield site for four new light industrial units in two buildings.

LGS were chosen based on the professionalism of our initial approach and advice, and the fact that our cold rolled frame system was perfect, given the tight nature of the site. There were also overhead power cables which restricted the height at which we could work. Our cold rolled system doesn’t require cranes or heavy plant, so ideal in this situation.

There was a low bridge which restricted access to the site. Again, our system was able to be transported on smaller vehicles than traditional structural steel.

The client had his own groundworks team, so we designed the foundation and the buildings themselves, and worked closely with his architect and groundworkers to erect the units quickly and efficiently, as shown in the timelapse video of one of the builds.

The buildings feature Kingspan group fully insulated composite cladding in black with contrasting red trims and doors.

The result is a high-quality small estate, now called ‘Riverside Park’, bringing redundant land into use and creating much needed industrial space and employment opportunities.

From my first communication with Mark I felt confident that LGS would give us a first-class service, and the excellent performance of Toni and the site team proved that to be correct. The buildings are superb, the service was great, and I would have no hesitation in recommending LGS Projects.
