Doncaster Airport Industrial Estate
Our client is a local businessman, who had purchased a prominent parcel of land, with frontage onto two main roads very close to Doncaster Airport.
We were contacted by the client towards the end of 2020. His architect was about to retire, and although the layout of the site was well progressed, no planning application had been made.
LGS assembled a team of architects, engineers, and a groundworks and drainage contractor.
The local planning authority considered this to be a very important site, and several hurdles had to be overcome before planning was finally granted.
The final design provided 12 units in 4 buildings, totalling 17,000sqft (1600sqm). All utilising the LGS cold rolled steel frame and fully insulated cladding.
The buildings were constructed in 2024, and the innovative design gives a striking effect which has drawn universal praise, and resulted in several new enquiries.
We are delighted to have been involved in such a high-profile project from the start, designing the buildings, foundation and drainage, and constructing the whole estate. It is wonderful to have received so many positive comments from everyone, from the local business community to passers by and local residents.
