Industrial leisure building (West Yorkshire)
Our client initially wanted two separate industrial buildings, suitable for trade counters.
This subsequently changed to one larger, 67m x 15m x 6m high to eaves building.
Our cold rolled steel frame was chosen, with fully insulated composite cladding.
The use also changed to leisure. Specifically, a swimming pool designed for teaching, and a children’s ‘play town’.
We had never been involved in this sort of project. There were several additional and some unique requirements, especially for the swimming pool section to help combat corrosion created by the humidity and chemicals used.
Despite these, plus extremely high winds and other challenges, we delivered a superb building, bringing wonderful facilities, employment and new life to a formerly derelict area.
